Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was in the role of Flora McGrath. For this part, she was awarded an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for Best Supporting Actress for portraying the bright and curious child of Holly Hunter's lead part on the film The Piano. The actress was chosen to play Flora McGrath the daughter of a blind Scottish pianist, who in the middle of 19th century, moves to New Zealand for an arranged wedding after she accepted an audition for open casting at the age of nine. She was old. She had little previous experience as an actor. When she was a teenager, she moved to the United States. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part as Jane Eyre in the film when she was only a child. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a smaller character. The role she played was for teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). Also, she portrayed the teen groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
